Twain Harte, Calif—June 17th, 2010— O-Games™ and PGA legend John “The Lion” Daly captivated crowds at E3 while demonstrating John Daly’s ProStroke Golf’s unique control system with Sony’s Move Controller.

The Move controller gives players far more control than any other golf game, allowing players to easily shape and hit realistic golf shots.

“The game is really fun and great to play,” said John Daly. “You can actually swing the club like in real life and open and close the club face to shape your shots for draws and fades. What’s really great about the game is that it will get kids and adults up off the couch and more interested in golf.”

O-Games opened the show to crowds of people desperate to see John Daly and out drive him on the John Daly Challenge Mode.

“The popularity of John Daly is amazing,” said Jim Scott, CEO of O-Games. “Our booth was packed all day with people waiting to meet ‘The Lion’ himself and see him grip the Move controller and bomb it down the fairway.”

O-Games is located in the West Hall, Booth 5544, showing all their Summer and Fall titles on Wii, DS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 platforms.

RedLynx’s Xbox hit smashes through a new milestone.

June 17, 2010 (Helsinki, Finland) — RedLynx (redlynx.com) announced today that Trials HD, its award-winning motorcycle stunts game for Xbox LIVE Arcade, has smashed through the one million player mark.

“Trials HD was officially announced exactly one year ago at E3. So it’s only fitting that this week, during E3, we had our one millionth player record a score on Trials‘ Global Leader Board,” said Tero Virtala, CEO of RedLynx. “It’s an exceptional achievement for any game and, obviously, we are thrilled.”

To celebrate this milestone and reward its fans, RedLynx hosted a special event called ‘Million Player Madness,’ challenging the community to guess the exact time and date when the millionth score would be recorded.

That time turned out to be June 16, 1:15 AM GMT, guessed most accurately by community member Schtee, who won a game, a flag, a hoodie, and a motorcycle helmet autographed by the entire Trials HD team.

Summer Special – This Week Only!

For those yet to experience the Trials mystique, the timing couldn’t be better, as they can now download the full game for only 560 Microsoft Points, an unbeatable deal that lasts through June 20 of this week only. It’s a 53% savings from the game’s normal price of 1200 Points.

Plenty of Praise

Recently, Trials HD was voted 2009’s ‘Best Overall Arcade Game’ and ‘Best Innovation’ by the Xbox LIVE players community themselves. It was also named ‘Best Game of 2009′ at the Nordic Game conference and was nominated ‘Best Downloadable Game’ at the 12th Annual Independent Games Festival.

The game has been critically acclaimed with an average review score of 86 on Metacritic.com with critics and a remarkable 94 with participating gamers.

The game was first launched on Xbox LIVE Arcade on August 12, 2009.

For more information on Trials HD, visit redlynx.com.

Survival Horror Series Returns to Next-Gen Platforms With New Level of Mind-Bending Terror

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – June 16, 2010 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today unveiled Silent Hill 8 (working title), the eighth installment of the Silent Hill franchise. Scheduled to launch in 2011 on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Staying true to the franchise’s original roots, the game returns with another third person horror experience, and an all new thought provoking storyline. Players will once again find themselves face to face with their deepest sins and fears in the strange world of Silent Hill.

“In honoring the rich history and strong following of Silent Hill, we’re working hard to build a next generation horror game that the fans truly deserve,” said Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “This Silent Hill introduces an all-new storyline and unique evolutions in gameplay, building on innovations and successes from over a decade of true survival horror and terror.”

The survival horror experience begins after a prison transport vehicle careens off the road, leaving lone inmate Murphy Pendleton stranded in Silent Hill. Gamers will encounter mind-bending puzzles, as well as horrific creatures and other world terrors using everyday objects from wooden chairs to glass bottles to fend off their enemies. The natural response, fight or flight is left to the player as they unravel a dark, thought-provoking storyline which will appeal to fans of the early, classic Silent Hill series, as well as anyone who enjoys a deep, psychological horror experience. In addition to the main storyline, players will also be presented with variable side quests along the way that can change depending on their play style, revealing unknown evils within the town.

Silent Hill 8 (working title) is scheduled to launch in 2011 on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. For assets and additional information, please visit http://www.konami.com/downloads/.

A Brand-New IP From Konami Featuring Unrivaled Gameplay Where Players Reassemble Decapitated Body Parts

El Segundo, Calif. – June 16, 2010 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced an all-new IP, NEVERDEAD currently under development for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. NEVERDEAD will feature third-person action gameplay set in a fantasy and horror-influenced universe where supernatural battles between humans and extraordinary creatures blanket a vast city landscape. Gamers will wield a butterfly design-inspired sword and an arsenal of guns to decimate waves of ungodly enemies in the not-too-distant future.

“For NEVERDEAD, we’ve introduced some truly exciting new forms of gameplay and sword fighting, including a unique healing mechanism originally designed and conceived by a former member of Kojima Production,” said Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “Their contributions, and those of the development team, have helped forge a great new action IP to add to Konami’s vast lineup.”

NEVERDEAD begins in the waking hours of peace and calm, when the world is under threat of being consumed by a demonic plague. Centuries have passed since the world succumbed to an unforeseen shadow of evil, and a hero was made an immortal by demons. These demons have risen once again in the present day causing unrelenting mayhem reinforced by destructible environments within the game. Now using his immortalic regenerative powers re-assembling his own body to evade death, the hero carries out the only salvation the world will know, for he is Never Dead.

New and Exclusive Content, Innovative Services and Community Focused Tools Provide the Most Comprehensive Entertainment Experience to PlayStation®3 and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) Users

LOS ANGELES, June 15 /PRNewswire/ — Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) today unveiled new original programming and gaming content additions to PlayStation®Network’s unmatched and ever-growing entertainment suite of new and exclusive content, services and community focused tools. SCEA introduced PlayStation®Plus, a new subscription service package offering users even more options in how they consume content on PlayStation Network, during its press event kicking off the annual E3 Expo 2010 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In addition, an open casting call was announced for Season 2 of its original competitive reality series, “The Tester™,” premiering this fall. Combined with the recent availability of programming from HBO® and ability to stream live baseball games in High Definition (HD) through the MLB.TV subscription service, PlayStation Network is continuing its evolution in delivering a great overall entertainment experience to its users.

New PlayStation Network titles for both the PlayStation®3 (PS3™) and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) systems were also announced at E3, adding to an existing library of more than 670 downloadable games on PlayStation®Store. For the PS3 system, PixelJunk™ Shooter 2, PixelJunk™ Racers 2nd Lap, Dead Nation™, Fat Princess 1.06 Patch, and echochrome™ ii were showcased. Additionally, God of War®: Ghost of Sparta, Invizimals™, Piyotama®, Hot Shots Tennis: Get A Grip™, Patapon®3, EyePet™ and Gravity Crash™ will be released for the PSP system later this year.

“PlayStation Network has come a long way in just three short years and we have more than 50 million registered accounts accessing an unparalleled connected experience – from live sports and exclusive original programming to new gaming, movie and TV content,” said Jack Tretton, President and CEO, SCEA. “The combination of PlayStation®’s connected experience and products, allows us to continually provide the most comprehensive entertainment experience, at home or on the go, for the passionate and devoted PlayStation community.”

For the first time, PlayStation®Home — a ground-breaking virtual social gaming platform available on the PS3 system– will provide users that can’t make it to E3 in Los Angeles the opportunity to explore and experience PlayStation’s virtual E3 booth. The virtual booth, an exact replica of the “real” PlayStation E3 booth, will be accessible for the entirety of the Expo and will give the PlayStation Home community an opportunity to check out the show floor with added bonuses including access to the exclusive VIP level in the PlayStation booth. In addition to videos of the latest PlayStation 3 and PlayStation® Move titles, game trailers, interviews and behind-the-scenes looks at the making of a PlayStation Home space, the PlayStation Home virtual E3 booth will also showcase a special taping of Jack Tretton’s E3 keynote address. Fans that attend the booth will also be rewarded with virtual content including exclusive E3 virtual clothing items for their avatars as well as a slew of PlayStation branded decor for their personal PlayStation Home spaces.

PlayStation®Plus

PlayStation Plus is a new subscription service package offering users even more options in how they consume content on the PlayStation Network. PlayStation Plus provides gamers with more value, access and convenience by offering subscribers features such as frequent discounts on PlayStation Store content, free and exclusive access to select games, full game trials, early invitations to select betas of popular games, and new functionality such as content downloads and updates which will automatically be “pushed” to the PS3 system even when consumers are not using their system.

While all PlayStation Network users will continue to have free access to its expanding game and non-game content and service offerings for the PS3 and PSP systems – just as they do today – PlayStation Plus members will gain access to an exclusive set of features and functionalities designed specifically for gamers. PlayStation Plus members will have free access to titles including WipEout HD, Minis and PS one® Classics such as Fieldrunners, Age of Zombies and Rally Cross, a full game trial of inFAMOUS®, and discounts on downloadable content such as Fat Princess. Additionally, members will always have access to their virtual library of free games for as long as they keep their PlayStation Plus membership. Consumers can sign up on PlayStation Store or learn more about the new exclusive set of features and functionalities at us.playstation.com.

PlayStation Plus will be available on June 29, 2010 for a 365-day package at $49.99. SCEA is also running a “limited time offer” giving subscribers 3 free bonus months for signing up for a 365-day subscription. Consumers also have the option to subscribe for 90-days for $17.99.

Original and Exclusive Programming

From the beginning, PlayStation has been a pioneer in gaming and entertainment — from delivering genre-shattering exclusive games to becoming the first entertainment network on a console to offer a premiere video delivery service. In February 2010, “The Tester,” an original competitive reality series pitting 11 hopeful gamers from across the country to compete for a chance to win a position as a game tester at SCEA, debuted exclusively on PlayStation Network.

Today, following the excitement and success of the debut series, PlayStation announced that a casting call for Season 2 of The Tester is now open at http://www.thetester.com/. Now, a new group of gamers will get a chance to compete in physical and mental challenges to win a job as an official PlayStation game tester. During this Season’s summer long casting process, there will also be an online contest that will allow at least one lucky person to be voted onto the Season 2 cast by the PlayStation Community.

For additional information on The Tester, produced by reality programming veteran 51 Minds Entertainment, and how to create a profile for a chance to be on Season 2 of The Tester, go to our casting site at http://www.thetester.com/. There is also a video featuring Season 1 winner, Will Powers (aka “Cyrus”), with some helpful tips on how to make a great profile. More than 23,000 movies and TV episodes are currently available through PlayStation Network’s video delivery service, including HD movies from all of the major studios – 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros. Additionally, exclusive original content such as programming from HBO, live sports through the MLB.TV subscription service, Qore™, an interactive video gaming magazine, and PULSE, a bi-weekly video showcase of the latest news from PlayStation, makes the PS3 system one of the most content rich entertainment platforms in the home or on the go with the PSP system.

PlayStation®Home

Since the launch of PlayStation Home exclusively on the PS3 system in 2008, it has evolved beyond a social network into a rapidly evolving true gaming platform. In the past year PlayStation Home’s user base has more than doubled to 14 million worldwide. Today, users spend an average of 70 minutes per visit, playing games, attending and organizing special events, watching videos, listening to music, meeting new friends, and launching into games together.

In addition to millions of PS3 fans discovering all that PlayStation Home has to offer, game developers and publishers are also recognizing the value of directly interacting with the gaming community to increase and extend consumer interest in their game titles via new mediums of game play. SCEA has partnered with nearly 30 brands to develop virtual environments and game-specific content for PlayStation Home, including Activision, Electronic Arts, Capcom Entertainment, NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., THQ and UBISOFT, and is continuing to welcome new and eager developers onto the platform as well.

With the launch of Sodium One, PlayStation Home’s first massively multiplayer online (MMO) game space, in December 2009, PlayStation Home further evolved into a true social gaming platform, complete with both snack-size mini games and extended gaming experiences to share with both existing friends and new friends met within PlayStation Home.

Today, PlayStation Home offers gamers more than 100 ready to play games, 50 discreet public and private spaces to experience, and over 5000 virtual items to collect, with new store fronts available from LucasArts, Lockwood, Loot, Activision and Disney. Additionally, more than 400 community events have been held in PlayStation Home since its launch, many organized by the PlayStation Home community.

TOKYO, June 15 /PRNewswire/ — Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) today announced that it will release a subwoofer built-in, all-in-one Surround Sound System for the PlayStation®3 (PS3™) system in fall 2010 in Japan, North America, Europe/PAL territories, and Asian countries/regions at a recommended retail price of 19,800 yen (including tax), US$199, and euro 199 respectively. Users will be able to enjoy immersive audio on the PlayStation®3 system, including upcoming games supporting PlayStation®Move motion controllers, Blu-ray movies, as well as stereoscopic 3D content by simply placing the speaker in front of the television and connecting it to the PS3 system with the optical digital cable.

The Surround Sound System utilizes cutting-edge technologies, including Sony’s S-Force PRO Front Surround Sound that generates rich realistic surround sound over one front speaker. Delivering a dynamic sound environment with audio virtually coming from all directions, the Surround Sound System will immerse users into a cinema-like experience in the living room, making them feel like they are actually in the game or movie itself. Bringing in SCE’s expertise in both entertainment and technology acquired from developing games, four sound fields of the speaker system have been designed with the help of SCE’s expert game sound designers, to optimize the cinematic experience of all forms of entertainment.

The Surround Sound System comes with two audio inputs − an optical audio input for connecting high-end entertainment systems including PS3, and an analog audio input for connecting portable devices like the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system to enjoy listening to music in the living room. The form factor of the system features a sleek and casual design that matches perfectly with the PS3 system, and delivers dynamic sound without the physical space required by a traditional home theater system.

Through the introduction of new peripherals, SCE will continue to further expand the PS3 platform and create a new world of computer entertainment that is only possible on PlayStation.
